ESG Policy |
The Coffee Twins
At The Coffee Twins, our mission is to bring people together through exceptional coffee, responsibly sourced, expertly roasted, and served with integrity.
We believe every cup should create value not only for our customers but also for the farmers, roasters, and communities behind it.
This Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Policy outlines the principles and commitments that guide how we operate as a business.

1. Environmental Responsibility
We recognise the urgent need to protect the environment and reduce our footprint at every stage of the coffee journey, from bean to cup.
Our commitments include:
- Responsible sourcing: All our coffees are roasted in the UK using beans from small farms around the world that prioritise quality, ethical farming, and environmental care.
- Packaging: Our coffee packaging is fully recyclable, and we are continuously exploring compostable options and lower-impact materials.
- Local partnerships: By working with a UK-based roaster, we reduce emissions from transport and support a shorter, more sustainable supply chain.
- Waste reduction: We aim to minimise waste through efficient roasting batches, smart inventory management, and eco-conscious packaging choices.
- Continuous improvement: We regularly review our environmental practices to identify opportunities for energy savings, waste reduction, and carbon footprint minimisation.
2. Social Responsibility
Our success depends on the people who make our coffee possible, from farmers to baristas to our customers.
Our commitments include:
Ethical supply chains
We partner with a trusted UK roaster who maintains close, transparent relationships with farmers and cooperatives. Many of these farms receive premiums above standard market rates, improving livelihoods and community wellbeing.
As twin founders, we actively share our coffee knowledge and offer training for hospitality staff and businesses to elevate coffee standards in the industry.
We value diversity and treat everyone, employees, customers, and suppliers, with fairness and respect.
While our roastery partners support community initiatives in coffee-growing regions, we aim to expand our own direct social impact programmes as the business grows.
3. Governance & Ethics
Good governance underpins everything we do. We are committed to transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct in all areas of our business.
Our governance principles include:

Leadership oversight:
Both founders, known as The Coffee Twins, are jointly responsible for ensuring compliance with ESG standards and reviewing progress annually.

Integrity in business:
We maintain honest communication with our customers and partners, and uphold transparency in pricing, sourcing, and marketing.

Data privacy:
- We protect the confidentiality of customer and partner information in compliance with UK data protection laws.

Data privacy:
We meet all applicable regulations related to food safety, labour practices, and environmental standards.
3. Governance & Ethics
We’re committed to continuous improvement. Over the next few years, we aim to:
- Introduce certified sustainable coffees where possible (e.g., Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade, or direct trade verification).
- Explore a transition to compostable or carbon-neutral packaging (we’ve already made progress in this area through our compostable coffee pods).
- Publish an annual ESG progress summary for our partners and customers.

CONCLUSION:

At The Coffee Twins, we see coffee as more than a product, it’s a force for connection and positive change. Through responsible sourcing, ethical partnerships, and transparent governance, we are building a brand that balances quality with conscience.
Signed,
The Coffee Twins
